vinvolved wiltshire is a partnership between BTCV and Volunteer Centre Swindon with a member of staff based within each organisation.

 

 

 

 

Emma Leyland is the Youth Volunteer Development Manager based at the Volunteer Centre Swindon.

The main focus of her work is to support organisations to develop their youth volunteering opportunities. Other responsibilities ensure the v team is operating within quality assured standards, to faciliate local networking between organisations who are either currently or considering involving young people in the work. Supporting the Wiltshire Youth Action Team to ensure that the v project is youth led and responsive to the needs of Wiltshires young people, and a lot more! Laura Penn is the Youth Volunteer Advisor based at BTCV.

Her role is to broker young people into the opportunities Emma has developed as well as promote the benefits of volunteering in general to Wiltshires young people. She spends a lot of time doing presentations in Schools, Colleges, Youth groups and well, basically anywhere they may be young people, to make sure they get the opportunity to join in with the v programme. She also supports young people to complete their v awards and sign posts them to other qualifications / accrediation opportunities available.
